How we handle your information

Last updated September 27, 2026

The short version

  • We collect your name and email only when you set a reminder, and use them only to send the reminders you ask for.
  • We never sell or rent your information, and we don’t send marketing email.
  • Every email has a one-click cancel link, and you can ask us to delete your information at any time.

What we collect

When you set a reminder, we store your first and last name, your email address, which broadcasts or screenings you chose, and when you set, received, or cancelled each reminder.

To prevent abuse, we also record the internet address (IP address) and browser type your request came from. We use these only to stop spam and automated sign-ups.

On your device, the site saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so it works the way you expect: private codes for the reminders you set in that browser, your name and email so the form is filled in next time, and whether you last viewed Broadcast, Cinema, or All. This stays on your device; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

We don’t ask for, and don’t want, any other personal information.

How we use it

We don’t add you to a mailing list, send newsletters, or use your information for advertising.

Who else handles it

We never sell or rent your information. A few service providers handle it on our behalf, only to run Opera Clock:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies

Opera Clock itself doesn’t use cookies for visitors. Google Analytics may set its own cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the schedule and reminders will still work.

How long we keep it

We keep reminder records, including cancelled ones, so the site can show your reminder history on “My reminders” and prevent duplicate emails. You can ask us to delete all of your information at any time, and we’ll remove it.

Your choices

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your “My reminders” and cancel links contain long private codes instead of your email address. Keep those links to yourself: anyone you forward them to could view or change your reminders.

Children

Opera Clock isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
