About

What we publish and how reminders work

Opera Clock keeps the Met’s Saturday opera schedule, broadcast and cinema, in one clear place, and tells you when the performance you care about is about to begin.

How Opera Clock works
1The schedule
What we publish

The Met’s Saturday broadcasts

Opera Clock started with the Saturday matinée broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network. That’s the longest-running classical series on American radio, heard every Saturday from December to June.

Plenty of other houses and stations broadcast opera too. We’re happy to add them. If enough listeners suggest a schedule, we’ll post it here alongside the Met.

2Cinema
The Met: Live in HD

The same season, on the big screen

Opera Clock also lists the Met’s Live in HD cinema screenings: eight live transmissions and three encores, shown in theaters around the world.

The switch at the top of the schedule, Broadcast · Cinema · All, lets you see just the broadcasts, just the screenings, or everything together. Cinema listings are softly shaded in gold, and every one has a Find a theater link.

Six Saturdays are both: the same live performance on the air and in cinemas at once. You can set a reminder for any live screening. Encores play on varying dates, so check your local theater.

3The Met
Straight to the source

One click to the Met’s own page

Operas with a small arrow after the title link straight to the Met’s own page for that production, with the story, the full cast, and where to see it in cinemas.

It opens in a new tab, so your place on the schedule stays put.

4Reminders
How reminders work

Tap Remind. We’ll do the rest.

Find a broadcast on the schedule and tap Remind under it. Enter your name and email, and that’s it. A confirmation arrives right away, with a calendar invite you can add in one click.

Two hours before air time, we email you again with what’s on, who’s singing, and when it starts, so you’re in your chair when the overture begins.

Set one, a few, or every Saturday of the season. Each broadcast is its own reminder. Times are Eastern; your local station may carry it at a different hour.

5Your list
Keeping track

See everything you’ve set

On the schedule, each broadcast you’ve picked shows Reminder set in place of Remind, so your season is clear at a glance in the browser you used.

Every email also includes a private link to My reminders, a page that lists all of yours on any phone or computer. From there you can cancel one, or bring back one you cancelled.

Lost the email? Tap My reminders at the bottom of the schedule, enter your email, and we’ll send your link again.

6Changes
Changing your mind

Cancel anytime, in one click

Every email has a Cancel link. Use it, or the Cancel button on My reminders, and that reminder stops. A short note confirms it, and you won’t hear from us about that broadcast again.

We only email you about reminders you set. Your My reminders link is private, so keep it to yourself; anyone you forward it to could change your reminders.
